If there is one thing we have learned
through this whole experience
- it’s to ‘REACH OUT’.
This is Eric’s Reach.
This is The Roter’s Reach.
Eric was 19 years old when he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. Eric and the Roter family knew that they were facing a journey of ups and downs, and took the time to independently educate themselves so that they could make sure they were doing all they could to support Eric in the ways he needed. The whole family including his wife Kortney Roter were committed to surrounding Eric with so much love and support so that Eric would triumph in his diagnosis - and in the end, love wasn’t enough. People like Eric, Eric’s family and his spouse deserve better and they expect better to come.
Born on December 20th, 1990 to a loving family; his parents William and Joanne Roter, his older brother Sam Roter, followed by his sister, Haley Roter, who would complete their family. Eric immediately filled the lives of his family and his community with laughter.
Eric’s cause of death was his battle with Bipolar Disorder and lack of resources. Throughout Eric’s journey his wife and family battled with hospitals, correctional institutions, mental health wards, police and battery, as well as lawyers to get Eric the care he needed.
In not one of these scenarios were we heard or helped in a way that was constructive.
We want change for Eric and to have his legacy impact others.
We are graciously accepting monetary donations and selling Eric’s signature merchandise in the hopes of raising funds in his memory.
Although we as a family actively sought out resources and assistance through Eric’s battle with Bipolar Disorder, as well as support in his passing, we have been left time and time again with no assistance and with nowhere else to turn. We are researching many different options with the funds we have accumulated.
When the appropriate cause comes to light, that actually provides assistance in the way we and our Eric needed, we will be making a donation in support of this deserving cause or causes.
Wondering how else can you help?
